Joe Biden just can’t catch a break. The addled, beleaguered 82-year-old former president purportedly picked this week to unveil Jomentum 2.0 – the viability rehabilitation tour. It actually began a few weeks ago when the Biden camp procured the services of Chris Meagher, a long-time campaign and communications strategist last seen in the Biden administration over at the Department of Pentagon. Politico has the story.

Joe Biden is in reputation management mode, hiring a veteran campaign and communications strategist to help burnish his legacy at a time when many in his party want him to exit the stage. 

In a sign of Biden’s intent to remain engaged publicly, his inner circle tapped Chris Meagher, a former Biden deputy press secretary and Defense Department spokesperson, to help him transition past the first 100 days of the Trump administration, according to multiple people familiar with the hire and granted anonymity to speak freely.

Of course, Politico is an arm of the Democratic Party, so they won’t fill you in on what exactly the portfolio at the Pentagon was of Mr. Meagher, but Alana Goodman over at the Free Beacon filled in the gaps. 

Meagher’s history of covering up damaging health-related stories about Democrats makes him a natural choice to represent Biden. He was part of a small group of Department of Defense aides who helped conceal Austin’s 2024 hospitalization following prostate cancer surgery. 

Meagher, a Pentagon spokesman at the time, was one of four aides who knew the defense secretary was indisposed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from complications after his emergency surgery but hid the news from the White House for two days. 

Austin’s two-week hospital stint drew criticism from the public and national security experts who questioned whether he had properly delegated his authority—and whether anyone was running the Pentagon after an ambulance rushed him to Walter Reed.

So not only is Meagher a specialist when it comes to playing the shell game with the media, using deception and diversion to shield his principal, that subterfuge extended to the then-President of the United States, Joe Biden, at the White House. Biden’s team has now hired the guy who deliberately made them look incompetent by hiding the medical condition of the Secretary of Defense. 

Meagher’s role now, allegedly, is straightforward enough. Destroy the credibility of any of the coming tell-all books about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. Biden, Inc. is in need of burnishing their reputation, and needs to defend against all of the finger-pointing to come of who knew Biden had lost it and when they knew it. According to Politico, Biden’s interview with the BBC earlier this week, and the hit Thursday on ABC’s The View, was set up by Meagher.

Meagher, who has worked for former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, played an instrumental role in booking Biden’s appearance on The View on Thursday, the people said, his first live interview since President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Even Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine on Mark Halperin’s podcast had to admit how hard it was for Democrats to watch Joe Biden put himself through the indignity of being the only person not realizing he’s declining.

Meagher wasn’t through, however. New York City was the next stop on the “I’m not Dead” tour. And it was nothing short of a disaster. 

Take this moment, when the pre-show wake-up cocktail Biden seemed to be on hit peak effectiveness. 

Sorry, Dan, this is hard to watch. And it got worse. When asked when he last spoke to Kamala Harris, this is what he said.

Do you remember in late October when the Harris campaign told Biden to quit ‘helping’ and wouldn’t allow him to appear with her at events down the stretch? I do. 

Harris has no current plans to campaign with Biden before Election Day.

Now that Harris is contemplating another run for the White House, a run for the governor’s mansion in California, or a run at an NGO board so she can do what she’s actually qualified to do – absolutely nothing while sitting on a board and making $5 million a year, here comes Joe Biden to tell the world that even though everyone knows he’s lost it, Harris is still calling him up seeking advice? Please, Joe, never go away entirely. I’m not sure the Republican Party can thrive quite as well without your assistance.

You almost have to feel a little sorry for Biden, because the day of his big interview on the View, lovingly referred to online after today as The Viewing, God Himself bigfooted him, blessing the Roman Catholic Church with an early end to the conclave and steering the College of Cardinals to Chicago and Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV. Any mileage Biden hoped to get out of today was clouded by white smoke and the first American Pope. 

Never fear. I’m not Catholic, so I’ll fill you in on Joe. He still believes that he would have won in ’24 had he stayed on the ticket. And yet media still obsesses over Donald Trump’s beliefs the 2020 Election. Biden went on to say that the only reason Harris lost was sexism and racism. Naturally.

Never mind the fact that the only other person running for president that year besides Joe Biden who couldn’t form a complete sentence around with a coherent thought behind it was Kamala Harris. 

Joe thinks people cast their vote not on the economy, not on the border, not on the woke/alphabet agenda going after our kids, not about rising crime, not about Jew hatred going on all over the country, no, Joe thinks ballots were cast because Kamala’s parents were of different races. What a pathetic, vapid response. I’d like to meet the one person out there who was about to go into the voting booth and pull the lever for Harris, only to learn at the very last second that one of her parents was from Jamaica, and the other parent came from India. I do not believe that person exists. The reason people didn’t vote for Kamala Harris en masse is because she’s a blithering idiot, and people wanted to turn the page from incompetence and fix problems once and for all. 

The key exchange from the Biden View hit came when The Question was asked, the one that the Biden camp hired Meagher specifically to counter. What do you say about all the books coming out talking about your cognitive decline? 

It was a question everyone knew was coming. Joe Biden knew it was coming. Dr. Jill Dr. Biden, Ed.D knew it was coming. Meagher knew it was coming. The entire interview was arranged in order to give the homerun answer to this question and shame the tell-all books by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, and Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, into oblivion. This is an answer they had to have practiced with him a thousand times leading up to this. 

And yet he ended up in the Civil War and talked himself into a box canyon? Dr. Jill Dr. Biden, Ed.D, who was only on the set in case he couldn’t deliver the goods on this question, again, one they all knew ahead of time was coming, had to swoop in to answer it for him. 

So now comes the big why. Why is Biden doing this? Well, in short, they’re broke. All the grifting, all the trading on Biden’s name, with 10% going to the Big Guy, all of the corruption by Hunter, Frank, and the entire Biden, Inc. clan, and it’s all gone up in smoke – black, white, you pick the color. Maybe you’re at Buc-ee’s, where the blue smoke emitting signals brisket is now on the board. They’ve blown through it all, and Dr. Jill needs a new pair of shoes. So it’s time to dust off the old man before he literally becomes dust, and make him relevant again. The kids and grandkids need the cash. 

Joe Biden may have tried to tell the world, “I feel happy, I feel happy,” but the pathetic reality he demonstrated, much like he did during his fatal 2024 debate with Donald Trump, is that he’ll be stone dead, at least politically, in a minute.
