This Fox News clip includes Trump’s 15 minutes of remarks about the bill followed by the actual signing surrounded by members of congress and his cabinet. At the end of this, Mike Johnson gives Trump the gavel used during passage of the BBB.
There was also a B-2 flyover yesterday during the singing of the national anthem. If you scroll back to 15 minutes in the clip above you can hear it and you can see President Trump and the First Lady looking up but the camera never shows the flyover. Here’s another view.
Even the Washington Post gives some grudging respect for pulling this off.
The president who has signed a historic number of executive orders finally got his dream of signing a signature policy bill that contains a collection of his campaign promises…
It was the culmination of a string of successes in recent weeks and a remarkable display of how Trump has been able to bend to his will both allies and adversaries, world leaders and university presidents, media executives and judges.
Even after moments when the legislation seemed uncertain of passage, with Republican lawmakers balking at its cost and cuts to safety net programs, Trump secured the narrow margins needed through both power of persuasion and more than a little intimidation…
Reflecting on the past several weeks, he said, “There has never been anything like it as far as winning, winning, winning.” He said the election results gave him a sweeping mandate, claiming that the legislation was the result.
“The people are happy,” he said. “They’re happy.”

Of course the rest of the article is about how most Americans don’t seem to know what’s in the bill and Democrats are determined to convince everyone it’s terrible. Maybe they’ll be able to do that. They’ll certainly try. But yesterday, it was quite a patriotic spectacle and a winning moment.
Today, the White House released a photo dump which captured all of this in ways the video couldn’t. Some great images here.
