Britfield & the Lost Crown Movie set to Film in Britain (2026)
Rancho Santa Fe, CA 10/9/2025. Devonfield is excited to announce that the bestselling novel Britfield & the Lost Crown is set to become a major motion picture with production starting as soon as fall 2026. Keeping within the authenticity of the story, the movie will be filmed in Britain, including Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Windsor, London, and Canterbury, among other interior and exterior locations. Global release is tentatively scheduled for November 2027.
This captivating adventure will redefine family entertainment as the real-life story unfolds in contemporary settings and historical locations. Creating a new category in literature, the Britfield & the Lost Crown series is unique to the film industry as it does not rely on heightened fantasy, demigods, witchcraft, or superheroes. Anticipation is building for what is projected to become one of the most successful films in cinematic history.
The Britfield team is exploring collaboration with several award-winning directors and evaluating a lineup of top British actors to portray pivotal characters, including the astute Detective Gowerstone, the enigmatic Professor Hainsworth, and the devious Mr. and Mrs. Grievous. The search will soon begin for two rising stars to portray 12-year-olds Tom and his best friend Sarah Wallace, who are poised to capture the hearts of audiences everywhere.
Devonfield intends to develop each Britfield novel (four of seven completed) into a live-action movie. The script for the second novel, Britfield & the Rise of the Lion, will begin next year and eventually be filmed on location in France.
International Book Fairs: With a successful showing at the London Book Fair (March 11-13) and set for the upcoming Frankfurt Book Fair (October 15-19), the Britfield series is moving from a soft release to a global launch (January 2026). Represented by veteran literary agent Laurie Blum Guest, many deals are being negotiated, including the international rights for France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic, Lithuania, India, China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, and Brazil.
Global Book Tours: Beginning next year, the Britfield Global Tours will inspire children, encourage creativity, and foster reading. Starting in Britain, the 36-month tour will travel to Europe and Eastern Europe, then Asia, and South America. The European Tour will include England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy. The Eastern Europe Tour will continue to Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Romania. The Asia Tour will start in Australia, then the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea.
